GMAT is a standardized assessment used by top business schools around the world to assess the academic abilities of their applicants. While a high GMAT score is essential in getting into top business schools like Harvard or Stanford or Wharton, it is only one measure. The overall merit of each application also includes other criteria such as working experience, leadership track record, legacy factor, student essay, bachelor’s degree and performance at the admission interviews.
Format of the 3.5 hour 4-section GMAT exam:-
- Analytical Writing Assessment – one essay
- Integrated Reasoning – 12 questions
- Quantitative – 37 questions
- Verbal – 41 questions
GMAT scores are valid for 5 years.
As an indication, the average GMAT score for admission to Harvard or Stanford is around 720 or higher.
